The brain is a complex organ that is in control of majority of the body, whether that be emotion, breathing, temperature, thoughts, processes of homeostasis and motor skills. The brain is part of the nervous system, which also includes the spinal cord and nerves.
There are 6 main parts of the brain, it is comprised of the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, occipital lobe, cerebellum and the spinal cord. The frontal lobe is responsible for decision making and management, the parietal lobe processes sensory information such as touch, pain and temperature, temporal lobe interprets information from sounds, also interprets recognition of objects and languages, occipital lobe interprets things seen, such as motions, colours and shapes, the cerebellum helps with coordination and movement. Finally the spinal cord is where nerve signals are sent and recieved, these signals are how information from touch, pain and sight for example are recieved by the brain and procssed.
The brain has a protective layer between itself and the bone of the skull, called meninges. Meninge can be divided into three parts, the outer most layer is the dura mater, next layer is the arachnoid mater and the inner most layer contours around the brain is the pia mater.
The brain has its part in speech, sight, motor function, practically every function that the body has. Information gathered through the brain gives meaning to everything that a person does or percieves.
